A training life that continues after 40.

Eric Hinman’s sporting background spans long-distance triathlon and hybrid competition. If you follow @erichinman, you will recognize the place endurance, strength work and recovery have in the routine he shares.

For a runner who wants to keep making time for sport, that is a relevant perspective. The next session matters, along with the preparation around it and the equipment you choose to wear.

Eric uses Flytex for knee support and includes the sleeves in his recovery routine. The photos here show that choice in practical terms: putting the sleeves on, adjusting their position and wearing them out on a run.

His use of Flytex

Support for the knees. A place in the recovery routine.

Eric describes using the sleeves with the aim of supporting his knees, recovering well and easing strain on his joints so he can keep training. His Flytex athlete profile gives a specific example: wearing the sleeves during recovery runs.

The fit has to work with that activity. The knee bends through each stride, and the sleeve covers the leg above and below it. You can see that long design on both legs in the running photo.

For someone considering the same type of support, the useful next question is how the sleeve is constructed and positioned. The close-up preparation photos make those details easier to see.

The V2 design, explained

How Flytex combines compression and knee support.

01Help relieve knee pain during activity

Flytex wraps the knee in close-fitting compression, designed to support the joint and surrounding ligaments. That contact helps improve proprioception, your sense of the knee’s position as you move. The goal: less discomfort and a more supported feel when you run, bend or train.

02Support circulation. Recover faster.

The compression extends above and below the knee to support circulation through the legs. Flytex designs this compression to help reduce muscle fatigue, swelling and post-exercise soreness, supporting faster recovery after effort. It is why recovery belongs in the product’s role, alongside support during training.

03Keep moving with lightweight support

The Summer V2 combines a thin, flexible knit with coverage from thigh to calf. It gives you close-fitting support while allowing the knee to bend freely, without rigid hinges or bulky straps. Eric brings that combination into his recovery runs: knee support he can keep moving in, as part of preparing for the next session.

What one runner notices about the fit.

Eric’s routine introduces the product. A runner’s review adds another perspective on wearing it regularly, particularly the feel of the support and whether the sleeves stay in place.

“I love my flytex sleeves. I wear them on every run. The support is amazing. They stay put, they don’t slide down. I’m so glad I invested in them”

Review of Summer Compression Sleeves V2 for Knees and Legs

Customer review displayed on the Flytex product page. Individual experiences and fit vary.

For your own first fitting, walk and gently bend your knee before heading out. Check that the fabric sits smoothly and that the upper band feels comfortable. If it slips, bunches or digs in, recheck the positioning and size.

Choose the fit for your legs.

Start with a flexible tape around the widest part of your upper thigh, on bare skin. Keep it level and snug without pressing into the skin. Your thigh measurement is more useful than your usual shorts size.

The Flytex fit guide explains how to measure. If you are near a size boundary, contact contact@getflytex.co with your measurement and planned activity.
