Our verdict: limited coverage for a knee-and-calf setup. CEP stops around the knee. For runners who want compression extending down the calf, it leaves part of the desired coverage missing. Flytex V2 covers both areas in one sleeve, with two sleeves included.
03 / The kneecap-pad option
Bauerfeind Sports Knee Support

Bauerfeind's Omega Pad surrounds the kneecap and is designed to redistribute pressure during movement. It adds a contoured insert that Flytex does not have. This model is marketed for sports, including running.
Our verdict: a higher-cost option if you don’t need a kneecap pad. The contoured insert is its defining feature, but it does not provide Flytex V2’s extended calf coverage. For our run-and-gym setup, we prefer flexible knee-and-calf compression without a separate pad. Equipping both legs with Bauerfeind also costs $179.98 at the checked prices.

Our verdict: more brace hardware than a compression-focused session calls for. Bilateral hinges, hyperextension stops and fastening straps prioritize structural support. If you want a pull-on compression layer for repeated strides, squats and lunges, that adds fitting steps and components you may not need. Flytex V2 provides knee-and-calf compression without that hinged frame. If you need prescribed joint control, however, a sleeve is not a substitute.

How do I get the fit right?
Measure the widest part of your thigh and follow Flytex's size chart. Check the sleeve during easy walking and bending before training. Leg shape and sizing affect grip; silicone is not a universal no-slip guarantee.
What if I have a previous knee injury?
Ask your clinician or physical therapist whether compression is appropriate for you and how to use it. A previous injury does not automatically mean you need sleeves on both legs. Wearing a pair is not proven here to prevent compensatory injuries and does not replace rehabilitation or prescribed bracing.
